Advanced Medical has prepared a list of some of the most popular Medical laser types, procedures they perform and the various wave lengths used.

A word about laser recertification: From time to time we get calls from customers that are concerned about laser manufactures stating that if a used, preowned (gray market) or third party laser is purchased, they will need to have it re-certified prior to using it , or before the manufacturer will sell them parts and accessories. Yes some manufactures will use this strategy to discourage buyers from purchasing a preowned laser and yes, some will refuse to sell you the needed consumables to operate the laser.

Fortunately most laser manufactures do not manufacture their equipment from A-Z and use other supplier optics, filters, power supplies, flash lamps, tips, etc. In many cases these items can be purchased without needing the manufacturer and most repairs can be performed by an independent laser technician!

As of the writing of this article, no state requires recertification by the manufacturer to use their system!

The following information is to help a buyer better understand what wavelengths are used for different procedures. New systems are constantly coming onto the market and we will do our best to keep this information up to date.

Which is the best laser?

Advanced Medical is often asked this question! We simply answer there is no one best laser. There are a number of lasers currently available that will perform the desired treatment and give the results that would make you and your patient happy.

New system models are keeping the industry interested, but not all new models offer an improvement. As the saying goes, it’s easy to change something, but can be harder to improve it. With that said, I haven’t seen and real significant change in hair removal or IPL technology in the past 10 years. Some of the older equipment did a great job when introduced and the technology is basically the same today.

Give us a call and we will make some recommendations based on your needs and customer expectations.
